When winter came, the grumpy woman sent the girl into the forest. But hard work and a gentle character helped Nastenka not to disappear.
When the girl got into the forest thicket, she was kind to all the animals that met on the way. Then she got to the forest fairy and began to help her around the house. For her efforts, the fairy rewarded her with a rich dowry. Nastya began to think about who would become her husband. Grooms-hardworking peasant Stepan and lazy boyar Mitrofan. Elk and wolf came to the rescue: thanks to their advice, the heroine made a choice. The husband will be the one for whom work is not a burden, but a joy.
When the stepmother saw the gifts, she wanted to send her own daughter to the forest thicket. She told Marfa to dress warmly and go straight out into the cold. But the woman did not take into account that Marfushka is lazy, and by nature she is not at all as kind as Nastya. The girl got nothing but a chest of coal. Chanterelle and bunny also laughed at her laziness and stupidity. They threw snowballs at the girl.
Marfusha was not happy, but she realized that it was not good to be lazy. The moral of the production is: "What you sow, you reap." To get gifts, you need to work hard, and lazy people get only snowballs and coals.
