The main character of the puppet show is a curious puppy who wanted to understand which of the animals said "meow". When he wakes up early in the morning, he starts playing and having fun. After running around, the dog lays down to take a nap. Suddenly, a meow comes from somewhere — it's a kitten who decided to play a joke on the dog. Hiding behind the fence, he watches what happens next.
Puzzled, the puppy runs to the rooster and asks if it was meowing. The bird is outraged by this assumption. The dog has no choice but to go back to his kennel. The furry prankster meows again, and again the curious puppy tries to find out who it was. This time he is met by a frog.
The performance is joined by a Learned Cat. He suggests that the children collect the dial, and to do this, you need to find the lost numbers. Children listen to a fairy tale about lost time and learn to identify it by the clock.
The doggie sleeps sweetly, he dreams of colorful balls, with which he plays merrily. The scientist Cat offers the children to play too. Children join in the performance, answer questions, solve riddles, dance and sing.
After playing with the guys, the puppy meets the bee and also asks her if she said "meow". The bee gets angry and stings him right in the nose, then the dog meets the horse, mouse and cow. Children help the hero-they tell him how the animals "talk".
Good aunt cow offers her help, but first the children and the puppy must cheer her up: sing and dance. After the dance, the cow tells you how to catch the joker. The kitten asks for forgiveness and says that he did not mean to offend the dog at all. He explains that everyone should know which of the animals speaks how, and for this you need to read smart books.
